monster hunter swordsman - before hunt

I like the equipment designs of the game Monster Hunter alot, so I create this character based on one of the armor set in game. However, other than just to draw a hardcore hunter swing giant katana butchering monsters, I'd like to present the time when hunter is not on the hunt (the sentence sound quite weird). The scene is about the hunter cleaning his great katana before his hunt.

well it's prety rough right now, still trying to think of a better clothing for boy and probably need to fix the legs for the bull. doesn't look right to me.

The Huntting Season

The idea is the prey after prey after prey, and everyone thought he/it was the hunter...

still draft now, hopefuly to finish in these couple days... training on my speed

now I have most of the light/dark contrast layout in the canvas, now I'm trying to get the light reflect and bounce lights onto those rocks.

and perhaps think of a better pose for the lizard




whew... have spent about 15-17 hours on this image already... probably will finish the work in the next 10 hours. Still very slow, sigh. But I can feel that I am getting better and faster as I complete more projects.



finally finished this painting. Took me approximatly 30 hours or so? But I am happy to see myself improved greatly from last painting - young adventurers. And I am confidenced that next time it would only take me half the time to draw a picture with this level of details. ^_^
